Released: March 13, 2013

23:55 was the first song we released that was written as a band, rather than a solo project. The song name, 23:55, represents the time on the Doomsday Clock. In 2012, lack of global political action to address climate change, nuclear weapons, and the potential for nuclear conflict caused the Clock to tick another minute closer to midnight, making it 23:55. The concept was new to us and fit the heavy nature of the song. The clock has since ticked two more minutes closer to midnight.

Adding the John F. Kennedy sound clip was appropriate for two reasons: it fits with the obvious relation to nuclear threats in history and also because we recorded this at Chris and Steve's studio, Kennedy Studios, in Burlington, Massachusetts (though it was in Billerica at the time we recorded).
